Captain “cool” Mahendra Singh Dhoni clarified that he was not answerable to anybody while being criticised for his role as the skipper of Indian team.

”There will always be critics but my job is to play the role where a particular situation needs to be done,” Dhoni said whilst being asked of his hurricane 20 in the Asia Cup final against Bangladesh was the reply to his critics.

”What the team needs and according to that situation he has to perform for the win of the side,” Dhoni said.”I am not here to give answers to anyone. India losing the Asia Cup to Bangladesh would have been a bigger news than India actually winning it. So I feel there are people to talk about lot of stuff but my job is to play the role and responsibility that I have,” Dhoni said in the media conference ahead of India and West Indies warm up match at Eden Gardens on March 10 in relations to World ICC T20 tournament.

On inclusion of injured Mohammed Shami, Dhoni said the bowler will go undertaking tests with the physicians as of now.”Right now Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah are in form and bowling well.” Dhoni added.

The Indian cricket team is in “sixth gear” after a perfect buildup heading into the World Twenty20 Championship but captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said the side cannot afford to take things for granted given the format’s fickle nature. India blanked Australia in their own backyard, beat Sri Lanka at home before capturing the Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
