“Corruption is a principal challenge. India is in a crucial phase of nation building. There's a need to fight relentlessly against corruption. The government has taken significant steps to check corruption and the menace of black money in a short span of time. We have constituted a special investigation team to look into the issue,” said Modi.
Modi extended his speech as, “Comprehensive and deterrent law has been enacted that provides for stringent penalties. The government is unsparing when it comes to punishing the corrupt. Dastardly acts in Paris are a grim reminder that terrorists have shown ability in funding. “
“Funding includes smuggling of narcotics, bank robbery, vehicle robbery and state sponsored activity in failed states. Kautilya had suggested confiscating of illegitimate wealth of corrupt officials. Investigation agencies are limited by national boundaries Interpol plays an important role in asset recovery Government is committed to implementation of global standards for exchange of information on a full reciprocal basis,” Modi Concluded his speech.
