Modi Ranked Eighth in Time’s Poll

TIME who conducted a world-wide poll to know the person of the year 2015 and here are the results.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands at eighth place in the list. The Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai is in the second place.

The American politician Bernie Sanders maintains the same and continues to lead the poll with 10.5 Per cent. Pakistani activists Malala with 5.9% is in the second place of list.

Modi who represents India with 2.7% votes is in the eighth place in the list. Pope Francis is in the third place with 3.9 Per cent.

According to TIME Modi, "has encouraged foreign direct investment in India and is trying to modernise the world's largest democracy. He has also faced controversy over what some see as right wing extremism".

Google's Indian-American CEO Sundar Pichai is currently in the 25th place with a vote share of 1.5 per cent, while Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani was in the 55th slot with a 0.5 per cent vote share.

With global figures taking five of the top ten spots in the final week of voting, US President Barack Obama (3.5 per cent) was in the fourth place, "refugees" were in fifth and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in tenth place.
