First of all, the date October 2nd reminds us the Birth Anniversary of the great freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi. As, we all know Modi is the great follower of Gandhiji, Modi offered homage to the respected father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Birth day of both Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri occupies on the same day. So, Modi also pays respect to the great shastri. On the account of Gandhi Jayanti, the PM has started Swachh Bharath mission which aims for cleanliness in India. “Let us walk shoulder to shoulder & together turn Gandhi ji’s dream of a Swachh Bharat into a reality when we mark Gandhi ji’s 150th birth anniversary in 2019,” said Modi.

“Let us devote atleast 100 hours every year towards the cause of a Clean India. Sanitation is not about politics, it is inspired by patriotism and a commitment to make India dirt-free. Making Swachhata a mass movement is the need of the hour. When we can then transform India into one of the world’s cleanest nations,” added PM.

PM visits Jharkhand and inaugurated 180 KW capacity solar power plant for district court in Khunti, launched mega credit camp for Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana in Dumka.

LPG connections were also given to 5000 BPL families at Dumka. PM also gave Safaigiri Awards at a function organized by Indi Today group and complimented the contribution of electronic field in Swachh Bharath.
