Modi may announce OROP Program at Mathura rally

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a rally in Mathura so as to celebrate the first anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government at the Centre. He would address a rally at the Nagla Chandrabhan. This place is the ancestral village of BJP's idolizer Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. During the rally, PM Modi will likely announce the one rank one pension scheme that concerns the ex-servicemen at his rally in Mathura today. This comes as a result to mark the completion of one year of the National Democratic Alliance government. Talking about the OROP program, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that this was an "an unambiguous commitment" of the government and therefore it will be implemented. He further added that the defence ministry is holding talks with the various stakeholders on the method of calculation of pension concerning ex-servicemen.Talking about the program, it basically relates to the payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement. Reports are that heavy security arrangements have been made in Mathura keeping in mind the PM's visit. Reports are that eight companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), five companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed along with seven SP rank officers, two additional SPs and 19 Deputy SPs at the venue of the rally. Also, at the Nagla Chandrabhan village, more than 100 civil police constables, 35 traffic constables and 12 inspectors and sub-inspectors have been deployed.
