The South-East division police arrested three persons for allegedly raping a 26-year-old beautician at Celebrity Layout near Electronics City, Wednesday. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday.
The victim hails from Assam and was working as a beautician in the city for the past six months. The accused have been identified as Mehaboob alias Babu, Khaled and Bakhtiyar, all aged 22 years. They are all said to be from Karimganj district in Assam and working in the same hotel near Electronics City. One of the accused was reportedly the victim’s friend.
On Sunday, they partied at a restaurant in Hebbagodi. Later, they went to the house of an accused. It was there that the victim was raped, the police said.
The victim filed a complaint on Tuesday, based on which the police arrested the trio on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the police are awaiting test reports to find out if the victim and the accused had consumed alcohol or drugs.
