November 26 is observed as the Constitution Day in India, as the constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly in the year 1949 on the same date.

But the constitution came into force on 26th January 1950. Dr. B R Ambedkar is the Father of Constitution. He was then appointed as the Constitution Drafting Committee’s Chairman on 29th of August.

After Independence Ambedkar was called by the then Congress party members and asked him to serve as the first law minister of Inida.

The five year plan concept was adopted from USSR constitution, Directive Principles from Ireland.

Laws required for the function of Supreme Court was borrowed from Japan, it is the longest written constitution in the world.

448 Articles in 25 Parts, 12 Schedules, 5 Appendices and 98 Amendments are the elements which completes the constitution.

Many of the other countries adopted our constitution to follow.
