MiG-27 fighter Crashes in Jodhpur, Pilot Ejects Safely

A MiG-27 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in a residential area in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Monday morning. The fighter crashed about five kms from the Jodhpur IAF base.
While the pilot ejected safely, a house was damaged in the crash. The IAF has ordered a court on inquiry into the crash.

The pilot was on a routine training mission. He had reported a technical problem and sought priority landing. However, as the engine had failed, he had to eject, IAF sources said.

The plane crashed adjacent to a house in an open area in Mahaveer Nagar, SHO Basni Police Station Rajesh Yadav said. According to ACP Jodhpur (West) Sima Hingonia a portion of a house where the plane crashed was damaged.
