Rudrama Devi

Introduction :

Gunasekhar who struggled very hard for the movie release, who left all his assets for the first Indian 3D movie has finally released Rudrama Devi in theatres today. Anushka the beauty queen of Tollywood has stepped in the industry with the movie Super. Shetty began her race in a very better way and had set the record of women oriented movie in Telugu industry. Story :

The whole set up of the movie takes place at the ancient Kakatiya Dynasty of Orugallu. The King of the dynasty Ganapathi Devudu (Krishnam Raju) rules for 60 years suffers a lot with not having a male in their family who have to rule the dynasty further. At last his wife gives birth to a girl where Devudu will reveal to his dynasty that a boy has born in his family. Because of the reason that the opposition dynasty’s king will attack on them, they hide the fact.

Shiva Devayya (Prakash Raj) teaches all that needed to win the dynasty and introduces her to the world as Rudradeva. In between, Harihara Devudu (Suman), Muraari Devudu (Adithya Menon), Mahadeva (Vikramjeeth), Gona Gannareddy (Allu Arjun) comes into picture. What is the realtion between these characters and Ruddrama Devi? How far she will rule the dynasty? Will be the rest story.

Plus Points:

The way Gunashekar chooses his cast in the movie is very well executed. Anushka and Allu Arjun have well cemented their performances according to the given role. The VFX effects are the added beauty to the movie. Anushka who followed a special diet looked gorgeous and struggled hard for the most different sword fights were superbly filmed in the movie. Suman who always appeared in a devotee role earlier, will be seen in a baddie character which suited him well.

Minues Points :

As the title role Rudrama Devi was played by Anushka, Gunashekar took much time to establish her character in the movie. The drag in narration is the major drawback. The other leads like Nithya Menon and Catherien tersa have been completely wasted their time in the movie as they have no importance in the movie. There are many lags in the movie. Many characters in the movie left worthless due to the time wasted on elevating Rudrama Devi’s image, songs are the main minus points in the flick.

Conclusion :

Rudrama Devi is a good attempt made by Gunashekar. Heavy stars in the movie will entertain you a lot. The visual effects in the film entertain you a lot. Anushka’s charming appearance will make you go awe. The sword fights and the way she draped herself gives you a feel like you are watching a real queen. On the whole, it is a onetime watch movie.
