In fresh trouble for Bollywood star Aamir Khan, an activist has issued a legal notice to the actor and producers and directors of television show Satyamev Jayate for using the national emblem of India without any sanction or permission from the government. The contention of activist Manoranjan Roy is that the show’s title cannot be used by anybody, either in any logo or by way of a title without prior permission from the Union government. The notice also stated that emblem is the national pride and it could be used by the persons or authorities as prescribed by the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act 2009 or with due permission from the Central government. “It cannot be used to get monetary benefits or for the purpose of advertisement. Advocate Manjod Singh, on behalf of Mr Roy has sent legal notice to Aamir, his wife Kiran Rao and director Satyajit Bhatkal, which read, “Our client has instructed us to call upon you to furnish us the copy of the permission obtained from any authority which gives (you) the permission or authority to use the State Emblem otherwise our client had given us peremptory instructions to initiate legal proceedings against you.”
