Mohanlal responds to JNU controversy in his blog-niharonline

Malayalam actor Mohanlal has lashed out at the protesters and sympathisers of the JNU stir.

In a blog titled "Why should we live if India dies", Mohanlal said people of India were unnecessarily arguing over patriotism at the cost of the freedom and security offered by the soldiers of the Indian army.

The actor, known for his commentary on social issues through his blog, begins the latest post by paying respect to the late Lance Naik Sudheesh who lost his life in Siachen.
"In winter, we sleep till 10 am. We have geysers to get hot water for taking bath. Then we go to offices and universities to hold discussions and stage protest," Mohanlal said.

The actor goes on to flay those who hurl abusive words at soldiers and those who paint 'anti-national  as spokespersons of freedom of expression.

"We dance for liberty and freedom of expression by stepping on the dead bodies of soldiers who lost their lives atop the hills of solitude," he writes.

Coming down heavily on intelligentsia, the actor said one may become an intellectual if one relinquishes the love, honour and willingness even to die for the motherland.
Mohanlal said one should send her children to the universities of culture so that they will learn to salute with the same strength with which they shout slogans.

He concludes the post, thoughts are good if they contribute to the progress of the country.
