Sattiraju Lakshmi Narayana (Bapu) the noted film director and screenwriter in the Telugu industry had introduced many good films to the people.
Not only impressed people with his art of direction, but also grabbed many applaud with his talents like Music artist, Painter, illustrator, cartoonist and designer.
He introduced Mr Asia Anil Kapoor to the Hindi film industry and also directed many hindi fims like Hum Paanch, Prem Pratigyaa, Who Saat din etc.
He was born in Narsapur west Godavari district and hold B.Com and BL form University of Madras.
Bapu’s art of freestyle painting had gained recognition worldwide and many of the magazines abroad used to print Bapu’s paintings as their cover photos.
In Telugu filmed many super hits like Sampoorn Ramayanam, Andala Ramudu, Mutyala Muggu, Bhakta kannappa, Manavoori Pandavulu etc.
In 2011, he directed Sri Rama Rajyam with Balakrishna. He received a total of seven Nandi awards for his contribution.
He was awarded Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian Cinema in the year 2013. Bapu who suffered from intense heart attacks many times died on 31 August 2014.
He was given a state funeral by the government of Andhra Pradesh.
