Modi's 'PRAGATI' platform brings Centre, State together

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his ambitious project ‘PRAGATI’, which is aimed to tackle the common man's grievances and monitor ongoing important projects. Launching the project PRAGATI which stands for Pro-Active Governance And Timely Implementation, Modi said, “This is a step to ensure that governance in India becomes more efficient and responsive as the whole world is now observing India keenly. PRAGATI is a unique integrative and interactive platform.” In his tweet. Via this programme, Modi government will bring the Centre and states together to review and monitor important projects and programmes. Making his first video-interaction with senior bureaucrats of central and state governments, Modi took up topics like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, toilets in schools, impact of the recent unseasonal rain, and status of key infrastructure and industrial projects. Six central government projects involving more than a dozen Union ministries and thirteen States were also discussed. During the interaction, the state authorities also raised issues on which they needed attention from the Centre. This interaction programme will be performed every month.
