India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet the family members of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose during his visit to Germany. The meeting comes a day after it was revealed that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru spied on Bose's family for 20 years between 1948 and 1968. According to a report, Modi is expected to meet Surya, Bose's grand nephew and a prominent businessman, in Berlin during an interaction with Indian diaspora. Surya Bose is the President of the Indo-German Association in Hamburg, which was founded by his great uncle. Nehru died on May 27, 1964 and spying continued for four years even after his death. Apart from allegedly intercepting and copying letters written by Bose's family members, the agency sleuths shadowed them on their domestic and foreign travels. The agency seemed especially keen to know to whom Bose's family met and their discussion. The Bharatiya Janata party hit out at the Congress over the revelation. Party spokesperson GVL Narsimha Rao said, "This revelation has shocked the nation. Netaji's daughter will meet the Prime Minister when he visits Germany."
