PM Modi Now has Over 10 Million Followers on Twitter

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed 10 million followers on Twitter becoming the second most followed politician. At 10.03 million followers for his personal account @narendramodi, he is second to US President Barack Obama who has a massive following at 54.7 million. Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono holds the number three slot with 6.5 million followers. Modi's follower count has increased from 6.13 million in September to more than 10 million in a span of five months. Prime Minister Modi was the only non-film personality in the top 10 most followed accounts in India with 8.4 million followers at the end of 2014. His account was the fastest growing Indian account registering a growth of 54.45%, adding 4.6 million followers in the year. If combined with the followers of his official handle @PMOIndia (with 4.84 million followers), several of which would overlap with his personal account, Modi's total followers are 14.87 million and growing. Among other world leaders, the Pope also has a big following on Twitter with more than 25 million followers across nine accounts in different languages.
