PM Narendra Modi today(Wednesday) tweeted that a new website dedicated to the International Yoga Day has been launched. The site, operated by the Ministry of External Affairs, gives all the details about the programmes to be conducted internationally on June 21 and later. In the run-up to the Yoga Day, Prime Minister Modi, an avid practitioner of yoga, had also promised to post various yoga poses on social media. Today on Facebook, he posted a video on Shashankasana, which, he said was useful to reduce anger and stress. June 21 was named the International Yoga Day following support from 177 countries. The huge support is seen as an affirmation of India's growing stature in world stage and its soft power. On the occasion, the government is organising Yoga Day events across 192 countries member countries of the United Nations, except except Yemen. In Delhi, an early morning yoga programme is scheduled at Rajpath, in which 35,000 schoolchildren and diplomats are expected to participate.  The Prime Minister, too, was expected to perform yoga on Rajpath, but on Tuesday, Union minister Sushma Swaraj said he would only address the gathering.  The other big programme will be held at New York's Times Square, where 30,000 people will be led through the poses by yoga guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It will be beamed live. Ms Swaraj will be leading the delegation to the United Nations in New York.
