The Indian Cricket administrator and a businessman died on Sunday (20 September) following a massive Cardiac arrest. On Saturday doctors declared that his health condition was stable. But, out of uncontrollable situation he lost his life.

Dalmiya who served as the President of the International Cricket Council, was till date the fulfilled the duty as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley said that “the country has lost an enthusiast who made India the home of cricket. “The game of cricket has lost a great administrator who shifted the Home of cricket to India. I have lost a personal friend,”

“I last met him in Kolkata last month. He was hopeful of recovering. Destiny however, decided otherwise, ‘Dalmiya Ji – A man in a league of his own’” said Jaitley.

The Cricket Master, Sachin tweeted as, “Heartfelt condolences to the family & friends of Jagmohan Dalmiya. Had met him in June. little did I realise that it would be the last. Will always cherish his encouragement & support over the years. Worked hard for the game of cricket & excelled as an administrator. Was touched by his efforts to make my penultimate Test at Eden Gardens very special. RIP Jagmohan Dalmiya.”

“Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Shri Jagmohan Dalmiya,” President Pranab Mukherjee wrote on his official Twitter account.

“My thoughts are with the family of Shri Jagmohan Dalmiya in this hour of grief. May Shri Dalmiya’s soul rest in peace,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
