Sunil Gavaskar believes Anushka Sharma had a positive influence on Virat Kohli during their time in relationship.
In recent times, Anushka has been heavily trolled on social media, and Virat Kohli had enough if it, as he blasted a section of social media users for criticizing his ex-girlfriend. Anushka was also the subject of troll in last year’s ICC World Cup, after Kohli failed to score runs against Australia in the semi-final. And Gavaskar has hit out at the critics by coming out in open defense for Anushka, stating she gave a lot of stability and had a positive impact on Kohli.
Speaking to a national media, Gavaskar called Anushka a “lovely girl”, who had a “positive” impact on Kohli “as a cricketer and a human being”. The former Test opener called Anushka’s critics as “frustrated”. Gavaskar also said Kohli and Anushka “looked absolutely terrific together” and that the actress “gave Virat a lot of stability when he was just emerging as the lynchpin of India’s batting”.
Kohli on Monday took to Instagram and Twitter, voicing his frustration, “Shame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what I do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity.”
