Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar felt that veteran left-hander Yuvraj Singh shouldn't be ignored by the Indian selectors just because of his age and that the Punjab lad would be a vital cog for the Indian team for his ability to bowl more-than-handy left arm spin.

Yuvraj, 33, slammed 187 against Gujarat in a Ranji Trophy group game on Sunday and showed signs of his vintage form. His knock was decorated with 14 fours and seven maximums and he had the Gujarat bowlers running for cover.

Gavaskar pointed out that Yuvraj can fill the void of an all-rounder, which Indian team needs very badly and also provide stability to the middle-order. Suresh Raina has been out of form and the Indians have lost two ODI's against South Africa after they failed to finish off the chase in the slog overs.
