Indian sports business professional, the Chief Operating officer of the successful Indian Premier League and also works for the Board of Control for Cricket in India Mr Sundar Raman quits from his post.

The BCCI has also accepted Raman’s resignation. BCCI president Shashank Manohar asked Mr Raman to put in his papers by 31 October.

"Yes he (Raman) has submitted his resignation to the BCCI President and BCCI President has accepted it, no doubt he was a very competent person and looked after IPL all these years with maximum ability and command. I appreciate his contribution to the IPL and wish him best for his future." IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla said.

As we all know Raman’s name was cropped up in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.

Raman has been associated to IPL since 2008 to 2015. He was appointed as the IPL COO by former IPL chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi in January 2008.

Raman filed an affidavit in Supreme Court stating that, “the person concerned was also a celeb, a movie actor and also a TV star. As IPL COO, I had to deal with celebrities as part of my job. Celebs often call for tickets and invites to events — such bonafide interaction can’t be basis of any misdemeanour on my part… The Mudgal committee report doesn’t specifically say that I had knowledge that the person concerned was the contact of a bookie.”

Before attending the Supreme Court he had resigned from his post.
