Yes…The captain of Indian Cricket team jumps off an aircraft. Not as a cricketer but as an honorary army Lieutenant colonel.

Dhoni is an honorary Lieutenant colonel in 106 Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army (TA), has jumped from the aircraft to justify his rank.

Mahendra Singh on Wednesday, para-jumped from an AN-32 aircraft from 1,250 feet height and touched down at Malpura dropping zone at Agra. He has been undergoing training at the Paratroopers Training School (PTS) since August 6th. To get qualified as a para jumper, he needs to qualify four more jumps from 10,000 feet.

This para jumping includes basic techniques followed by toughening exercises to prepare the body for the jerks and jolts involved in jumping off an aircraft with parachute. So, to acquire this techniques and body Dhoni attended two weeks of training.

Singh is the first cricketer in the world to train as a paratrooper.
