As we all know, PepsiCo giant soft drinks company has withdrawn their sponsorship for the grand cricket play titled Indian Premier League.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has said that, “it will address concerns raised by Pepsi with “amicable discussions” and “necessary solutions” but the beverage giant sent a notice saying the decision to withdraw was taken because “BCCI failed to act in a fair and transparent manner to prevent or take corrective measures in respect of such sporting frauds”.

According to the report, PepsiCo had said that, “gain positive publicity”, but BCCI breached its contract and “the fraudulent and illegal activities committed in the IPL adversely affected the image of the IPL as also the game of cricket..”

In the new report it was announced that One97 communications which owns Paytm is close to signing the deal with BCCI.

It is known that the discussions are already on the way and the main tricky is with the price. PepsiCo had paid around Rs 396 crore in the 2012 sponsorship of the IPL for five year period from 2013-2017.

One97’s founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma averted a direct answer "Cricket is this country’s religion. Teams can come and go, but I don’t think cricket will ever go out of this country’s bloodstream".

One97 has agreed to pay 203 crore for 4 years for all Team India games 84 Tests, ODIs and T20s.

According to One97, BCCI said that, the most popular Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royal’s will not feature in the next edition due to spot-fixing scandal.
