Sangakkara regrets of not winning ODI World Cup

Extraordinary player from Sri Lanka is playing his last series at his hometown with India. Sangakkara will retire from international cricket after this series and said that it would have been great had they won a Test series in India as well.

15 years experienced player will not play the rest two games with India as he will retire playing only one game. Talking about his cricket career he said that his biggest regret was not being able to win the ICC ODI World cup, despite reaching the finals of the tournament twice.

Sangakkara who is all set to play the first Test match of the three-match series against India, which starts in Galle from Wednesday said, "I would have loved to have won a 50-over World Cup. We had two chances, which we didn't convert them. It would have been nice to win few more Test matches away from home as well."

The 37-year-old further added, "I think that is the way the game goes. There are regrets, but there are no regrets that I can think on and bitter about in future."
