Sardar Patel Stadium which is at Ahmedabad, Motera is now all set to reconstruct like the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
This decision has taken in order to allocate place for the huge cricket followers who visit the stadium when matches will takes place. According to GCA Vice president Parimal Nathwani and the joint secretary Jay Shah it will take two years to complete the construction of the stadium.
“The stadium, at present, does not seem enough taking into consideration the huge rush of local cricket lovers during local and international matches,” said the officials.
The new design will provide seating facility for the 1, 00,000 spectators for which the construction plan was already designed and the demolition work was begun on Thursday.
Speaking about the cost involves in the construction of the stadium GCA vice president said that, “The cost of building a new stadium will be known after the design is finalized.”
