The war of words escalated in Bihar as the five-phase Assembly polls draw to a close with the final phase of voting taking place this week.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing his final election rally in Darbhanga, continued his aggressive stance accusing his political rivals of playing with the nation’s security by “sheltering” those promoting terror. He asked if such people should be allowed to form a government in the state.

When there were blasts in Pune and Mumbai and a Dalit police officer was investigating the ‘Darbhanga module’ of terror, its strings touched some leaders closely associated with those in power,” he claimed.

“While no action was taken against those encouraging and blessing people involved in terrorist activities, the brave policewoman seeking to find the truth was forced to leave Darbhanga and Bihar. Do you want Bihar to become a land of bomb blasts?” he asked.

PM said that his campaign had focused on the issues of development but Grand Alliance leaders had painted the electioneering with a “casteist colour” and created a fear of scrapping of reservation.

“We have exposed their game plan to snatch 5 % share in reservation for Dalits, tribals and backwards and give it to a particular community,” Modi told the responsive crowd.
