Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow and misery for the people suffering from huge floods in Myanmar.

“Sad to learn about devastating floods in Myanmar. India stands shoulder to shoulder with Myanmar in this hour of need,” said the PM.

Irrawaddy River is the main reason for the huge floods and the President of Myanmar has made a call for people to vacate the low-lying areas in the country.

The death toll has been increasing from day by day and now it has risen to 74 and more than 330,000 people are affected by the heavy monsoon rain.

The Irrawaddy River is at risk and now it rises to the “above danger level” where water drains through the vast delta which will kill the people staying at low-lying areas.
