Girl Abducted, Escapes After Raising Alarm

In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old girl was abducted while she was on a call in front of her paying guest (PG) accommodation by an unidentified man, who took her to a building under-construction nearby and allegedly tried to rape her.

The incident that was captured entirely on the CCTV fixed on the street happened at Katriguppe on April 23.

The victim said she resisted him and escaped after biting the accused’s hand. She rushed back to her PG and narrated her ordeal. The victim, who works in a private beauty clinic in Kalyan Nagar, was dropped off outside the PG near Maramma Temple in the area by her friend. Since she got a call, the victim stood outside the PG, speaking on the phone,

when the accused grabbed her from behind and took her to a building under construction nearby. The victim raised alarm, following which passers-by rushed to help. She later claimed that the PG owner tried to convince her to desist from filing a complaint. She also said that though the C.K. Achukattu police have registered her complaint, they had failed to take any action.
