Police arrested a villager named Abul Hussein in Tripura as he was trying to bery his daughter aged 10 years alive behind his house. According to police sources, the incident took place at a village very close to the India-Bangladesh border. Police said the man's dislike for his daughter was the reason for the incident. Abul Hussein is said to have dug a pit in his backyard when his wife was away. He is then said to have lowered his daughter in the pit, tied her hands, taped her mouth and then filled up earth into the pit upto her chest level. At this time, his wife returned and raised an alaram and with the help of neighbours discovered the girl and then called in the police. The police booked Abul under charge of attempt to murder.
