In another shameful episode of sexual harassment, a woman was allegedly molested by an elderly man in a flight sitting behind her. Things this time took a different turn as the alleged victim not only decided to open up about the incident before the police, but also document the entire altercation. The brave girl debased the man in full view of all the passengers present in the IndiGo flight and also captured him on a mobile camera simultaneously. The first video, captured within the flight went viral on the digital space whereas the second one that is garnering massive attention is recorded near the luggage belt. The alleged molester in the video can be seen apologizing for the incident. ‘It was a mistake’, he maintained. In the first video, the man can be seen covering his face as the girl calls for help and shout out reporting the event. However, in the second video, he can be seen accepting his ‘mistake’ but only with a smile.Later, the man who claims to be the father of a young girl promised a written apology to the alleged victim. But the victim has demanded to speak to the woman in his family. The flight confirming the incident released as statement which said, “An unruly behavior was reported on IndiGo flight 6E 553 enroute from Bombay to Bhubaneswar on January 27, 2015. During the flight a lady passenger complained of misbehavior from a co-passenger sitting behind her. Our IndiGo crew on board immediately alerted the Captain in command who further alerted the CISF staff and consequently the FIR was lodged in a local police station in Bhubaneswar. IndiGo is cooperating with the investigating agencies. Customer satisfaction is core to our business, and we are sensitive to such untoward incidents onboard. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers, and hope to serve them once again on-board IndiGo.” The shocking episode of harassment has once again raised the questions over women safety in India.
