<p>Local goons beat up a couple, filmed the attack on a cellphone and circulated it on WhatsApp in Hathras district of the western Uttar Pradesh. The video has now gone viral. The incident took place on March 12, but the matter came to light on Tuesday when local news channels aired the video. Taking swift action, cops identified the culprits and arrested four of them. Two are still absconding and a police team is searching for them. According to reports, priyanka (name changed) and her friend were on a motorcycle, returning home after attending the farewell function of Vivekanand College, when half a dozen local goons from Mansh village surrounded them and started beating up the boy. One of them also started filming a video with his phone. “I tried to protect my friend but they also pushed me and started thrashing me. They removed the scarf from my face and forced me to utter vulgar words. They said they will make the video go viral so that other boys and girls learn a lesson,” Priya said. The culprits have been identified as Sanjay, Ravi, Dara Singh, Eelu, Pankaj and Ramu. Sanjay and Ravi are on the run, the police said. “We are trying to book them under the Goonda Act. We have recovered country-made weapons from their possession,” Superintendent of Police Deepika Sharma said. </p>
