Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in a surprise move supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pakistan visit by saying that such initiative will help both the nations to understand each other better.

CM Nitish Kumar said, "I personally feel that PM Modi's trip to Pakistan was a good move. It was important for us to understand the internal situation in Pakistan in order to have a good relation between both the countries”.

Nitish also said that democracy in Pakistan is not that strong as it is in India. Unlike India, there are many stake holders in Pakistan apart from the democratically elected government and whenever relations tend to become strong between India and Pakistan, such forces always try to dismantle the relationship.

However, alliance partner and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had earlier questioned PM Modi’s Pakistan visit and said that PM must explain to them as to why did he go to Pakistan. Mentioning that several people including soldiers, civilians, colonels were killed in the Pathankot attack, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the BJP government must answer who was responsible for the Pathankot terror attack. The government should explain how the terrorists were able to enter the Pathankot army base. The government asked Pakistan to act on the situation and Pakistan as usual asked India to provide them with the evidence, Lalu added.

Comments coming from Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav show that both leaders have totally opposite views on Modi's surprise visit to Pakistan.
