Sonia seeks feedback from grassroots

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has written to state party bosses to conduct ear-to-the-ground surveys and seek feedback on how grassroots leaders would like to see the party reform itself. Her directive comes in the wake of the organizational revamp announced by party vice president Rahul Gandhi after the Congress's rout in the Lok Sabha elections in May last year. Sonia's missive asks party functionaries to submit their feedback by February 28, by when they are expected to travel the length and breadth of the states to collect suggestions. The idea is to increase accountability within the party, and fix responsibility for failures and successes.
