Sirisena gets sworn in as new President of Lanka

The leader of a multi-parti coalition Maithripala Sirisena on Friday has taken the oath of office as the sixth President Sri Lanka in Colombo. The island 's Supreme Court Judge K. Sri Pawan is said to have administered the oath to Sirisena at the Independence Square in the capital city of the island nation. Later, United National Party leader Ranil Wickramasinghe was also sworn in as the country's Prime Minister. Earlier, the outgoing president Rajapaksa vacated the presidential palace named Temple Trees.
