Pakistani to Coach Afghanistan Team

Inzamam-Ul-Haq Pakistani cricketer who had guided Afghanistan and led the team till victory in the recent ODI and T20 series against Zimbabwe had agreed to coach the team till 2017.

Haq is the third Pak cricketer to mentor the Afghanistan team after former wicketkeeper- batsman Rashid Latif and former all-rounder Kabir Khan.

The former coach of Afghanistan, Kabir Khan told to ESPNcricinfo as, "I spoke to Inzamam and he has accepted a two-year contract with the Afghanistan team which will do them a lot of good. Inzamam is satisfied with what he saw in Zimbabwe and believes that the Afghanistan team has good cricket talent and can move ahead."

Kabir expressed his love and confidence towards Inzamam as, "Inzamam is a cricket great and he can do a lot to improve their batting standards. And his caliber and stature is such that he will remain above any petty politics which have hurt the Afghanistan cricket.”

Inzamam is the highest run scorer for Pakistan in Test cricket after Younis Khan and Javed Miandad.
