The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had decided to allot two coaches for Indian team, one for Test Matches and the other for ODIs and T20s.

As India has two captains for Test matches and ODIs, the board officials are waiting to announce the names of the two coaches for Test and ODIs.

According to some media reports, "The problem with hunting for coaches is that with IPL and other T20 leagues around the world, they are not prepared to commit for a long period," the source said.

The source further added "We have different captains for Tests and ODIs. So, one of the things we are looking at is whether we can have separate coaches for different formats."

Prior to India, England has experimented the same concept of having two coaches with Peter Moores for Test Matches and Ashley Giles for ODIs.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said, "It is very important to have a full-time coach for any team. We have taken some time to decide and we will finalise the coach most probably in the month of September."

"We have left it to the cricket advisory committee - comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman - to decide how many people will be required, how many coaches will be required, whether (we need) a bowling coach, a batting coach, a full-time coach or a director," Thakur added.

This committee will come up with the decision by September end before the start of series against South Africa.
