Three TDP leaders who were kidnapped ten days ago by the Maoists were released in a safer way on Wednesday night.

Three MLAs namely, TDP mandal unit president Mamidi Balayya Padal, party senior leader Vandalam Balayya and district committee member Mukkala Mahesh were reportedly abducted by the Maoists.

The three MLAs who belong to the Girijan community were safely handed over by Maoists to the Girijan employees association.

The main motto behind their kidnap is not to get involved with any political party and join the anti-bauxite mining agitation which the Girijans had undertaken.

They were taken under the Maoists control on October 5, at Kothaguda village and wanted the government to not exploit bauxite and make a statement to this effect by October 13.

October 13 after former Tribal Welfare Minister M. Manikumari resigned from the three-member committee of the party for Paderu Assembly segment while Girijan employees association continued its effort to get the kidnapped men released and families of the victims and political parties made appeals.
